Hitachi has developed the new SET FREE series to meet the increasing requirements and complex operating conditions of intelligent building air conditioning.

Uses a high-pressure scroll-type compressor with improved
quality and reliability of compressor mechanism materials.
By using DC, the performance is improved at around 30-40 Hz
where the operation time of the invertor compressor is longest.
Also, to suppress electromagnetic noise interference and
achieved low noise, the rotor has been divided into two and the
electric pole displaced.
A new high-performance heat exchanger has been developed with
improved piping arrangement.
The self-diagnosis result is shown on a digital display via control
from either a remote control (relating to indoor units) or one of the
outdoor units. This air conditioning system can be checked for
operation even through the printed circuit board in the outdoor
unit, allowing you to carry out inspection work and/or take
remedies more quickly and correctly.
Outdoor units have become even more compact and lightweight.
Outdoor units require a 33% smaller installation space compared
to conventional types and weigh about 24% less (for
10FSG/FS3). They are easily installed in cramped spaces and
are small enough to be carried by ordinary elevator to the
installation location.
A new stream fan and enilarged bell-mouth is used in this series.
The fan rotatIon control has been changed to PWM (Pulse Width
Modulation type. These improvements contribute to the quietest
operation (58 dB). Furthermore, specific attention is paid to
nighttime operation. If the outdoor temperature does not exceed
30 degree Celsius during cooling, this model will operate in night-
shlft mode by night-shift setting, enabling it to run at low noise
level of 53 dB.
Hitachi has introduced the FSG and FSGI series that has been
specially developed with the global need to help protect the
earth's environment by using non-Ozone depleting refrigerant
R-22.
The compressor can be operated by optimizing control over its
service frequency depending on the capacity of indoor units.
Optimizing reduces the power consumption, achieving 81%
annually.
The actual piping length has been extended from 100m to 120m.
The distance between the first branch unit and terminal unit can
be 40m. Hence, installation is flexible.
